Hold times can still be long with the short staffing of course. Just because TV is 24/7 doesn't mean they have a workforce that never sleeps.

If they are still having staffing issues affecting their consistent closing time, then I would suggest calling earlier in the day instead of trying to do so when they are getting out.

The phone number in question (855-744-1728) was called by me and does answer as if it is DirecTV customer service, along with a live representative, but I can't find it anywhere on the internet, especially on Directv.com.
Ever since AT&T took over DIRECTV, all of their customer service operations (1-800-531-5000) have been moved to some Asian country overseas. I can tell because every time I have called this number, it has been answered by an Asian female with a thick accent.

DirecTV Customer Service. I am writing to express my frustration with AT&T DirecTV technical assistance. I NEED A CUSTOMER SERVICE EMAIL ADDRESS. The DTV rep on the phone tell you that my service change has to be done by an installer. The installer comes and says that my service change has to be done by rep on the phone. Then I get charge $99 for nothing. DTV doesn't do e-mails because there would be a record of all the lies that they tell you.
