Please do all of the following steps: 1) Move the Mods Folder to your desktop. 2) Delete the localthumbcache.package file in the game folder. This is important because it can contain bits of corrupted data even after you remove your CC/Mods! This is found in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4.
Otherwise, try to launch the game after moving the Sims 4 folder. If it doesn't work, try pausing OneDrive syncing, which you can do by right-clicking the cloud icon in the lower-right corner of the screen. If that doesn't help either, and you use a third-party antivirus, disable it, temporarily, and test again.
If the game works, set exceptions for TS4_DX9_x64.exe (if you've set Sims 4 to use DirectX 9) and/or TS4_x64.exe (for DX11) as well as EADesktop.exe. Test the game once before restoring any user data as well.
The game will create a new one, with a new Sims 4 folder inside, if it's able to launch at all. Try running the takeown command on your Documents folder. First, run a Windows search for "Command Prompt," open it, and enter this command: reg query "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders" /v "Personal"
Sims 4 keeps crashing after i played for 1 minute. The game freezes for 1-2 seconds and then crashes. I have repaired the game, done app recovery -> clear cache, reinstalled sims but it still doesn't work. It started yesterday suddenly after playing for a few hours (with one crash), and now i can't play at all because it crashes almost right away.
Move the Sims 4 folder out of OneDrive and onto your desktop and look at the saves and Tray folders inside. You'll get some idea of what they are from their modified dates, that is if moving the files doesn't reset the dates. If you want to load the files in-game, go into the Sims 4 folder in Documents\Electronic Arts and move the saves and ...
Things I have tried doing to fix the problem: Restarting PC. Uninstalling and reinstalling game w/out any previous save/mod data. Removed mods, saved games, cache, and tray files. Changed to Low Settings (Which I refuse to play on with my hardware) have the same stuttery gameplay, so graphics are not an issue.
So I was trying to launch my game from the EA app as normal, but then I got a message saying that one of the game's files was corrupted, and that it needs to repair itself. So I tried to let it do that, but it wasn't working. It would seem like it was repairing for a little bit, but then it would go crazy saying it was 90% done then 35% and so on.
Choosing new game will just send the game to a white screen, i have let that load for hours at a time hoping it’ll work, but i’ve never had any luck and it appears to be infinitely «loading». The problem isn’t my mods folder, as the game will do this regardless of whether there’s mods in the game or not. All mods & cc are also brand ...
After this new update, I can't enter CAS to make new Sims, change outfits, or plan outfits. I have to completely turn my PC off to get out of the loading screen. My Sims have random negative mood interactions and I can't enter build mode. I can't play the game at all, what a disappointment 😞. 198 people had this problem.
