For DaVinci Resolve 18.6 we have taken efforts to keep the project libraries compatible with DaVinci Resolve 18.1.4. While this allows you to access the project library with 18.1.4, individual projects created or opened in 18.6 will no longer be accessible in 18.1.4.

This will place a Resolve log file named similar to this on your Windows desktop: DaVinci-Resolve-logs-20181228_140434.zip (You may not see the .zip extension if your system is set to hide known extensions).
So - to save others struggling - here are the minimum hardware requirements for DaVinci Resolve 18.0.4 on Windows which I just got from the Readme. • Windows 10 Creators Update. • 16 GB of system memory. 32 GB when using Fusion. • Blackmagic Design Desktop Video 10.4.1 or later.

Re: No sound whe playing clip in Resolve 18. If you don't see the audio meters bouncing, you are not going to hear anything. And yes, you should see Resolve in the Windows Volume Mixer. Make sure that in the Audio I/O area, that the I/O Engine is set to System and that the Output Device is set to Use System Settings.
