I have been trying to add my gmail to the windows mail app. Brand-new laptop. When I click Add Account > Google. I have updated the mail app, and checked my gmail IMAP tab.

Once you enter that command restart and try to send the emails and observe the mail app. If issue persists, you can remove the account in the mail app and re-add it back.
