Honestly, in the grand scheme of things, funding 20 more football scholarships isn't a big deal. If you figure half of the extra come from out of state and half from in-state, that's an average of about $35,000 per add'l scholarship, or $700k total.
All that said, the state should be doing a whole lot more to fund education at state schools to bring down the costs. It should not cost $30k per year (total cost of attendance) to attend a state school.

Labas landed at a decent MAC school. Labas has looked impressive at CMU (had a big spring scrimmage game, and great stats in game 1) while Deacon struggled to win the starting job and then completed less than 50% of his passes for less than 5 yards per attempt. The fact that Labas got zero snaps last year is insane.
Boomers collectively took that, decided not to fund post secondary education and took the extra money they got from tax cuts to buy investment and rental homes, left very little homes for their children to buy.
