  2. Was going to say that too. Covers everything except the touchpad tracking. USB or Bluetooth to the Mac. Gamepad-tester will also give the stock readouts. A possible reason to trash a controller is if the sticks drift, though it is repairable. There is this app called "Gamepad Tester".

I made this controller input tester since I keep repairing my PS3 and PS4 controllers and there isn't an easy way to check that they work correctly without launching a game or installing a wrapper to pass them off as xbox controllers, (like DS4W) which I don't want since they lose functionality in some buttons.

Any other ways to test that the touchpad works? Btw the button underneath it works. I think if you use DS4Windows it uses the DS4 touch pad to control your mouse cursor. You could check that way. I don't have a ps4 right now, so I'm trying to sell my controllers. I have a couple v1s, which when I plug in/connect to my computer I can easily see….

Both of my DualShocks died recently. They will neither turn on nor charge. Resetting them didn't help as well. I've opened one of them and checked the battery, it has completely no voltage. The controller doesn't turn on while connected via USB cable, so I'm completely lost whether the USB port is broken as well.

I've personally been using DualSenseX for PlayStation controllers (outside of Steam or when playing games that handle support incorrectly), as it has been getting updates that add a ton of new features, and you can actually use gyro+flick-stick in Fortnite or any game with native PS4 controller support using Unreal Engine without being connected to a USB cable (Code Vein is one example where ...

There's probably software that makes it all work though, haven't done any research. edit: of course there is. Kinda weird we don't have an inbuilt app in our PS4 for this. There is a test console/controller function in the Nintendo Switch in the settings menu.

  11. How do I play audio to the PS4 controller's built-in speaker?

    www.reddit.com/.../comments/xea5w4/how_do_i_play_audio_to_the_ps4_controllers

Only DS4v2 and DualSense controllers support using the headphone/mic jack when connected via USB, or you can use them wirelessly with DualShock 4 if you have the Sony Wireless USB adapter for DS4 controllers. But in all these cases, none support the actual speaker of the controller, they only allow using a headset DualSense's speaker can be ...
