14 November 1992: Vietnam Airlines Flight 474, a Yakovlev Yak-40 (built in 1976), registration VN-A449, originating in Ho Chi Minh City with 31 passengers on board crashed while approaching the Nha Trang Airport in a tropical storm. There were 30 deaths; the only survivor was a Dutch woman, Annette Herfkens. The aircraft was entirely destroyed.

The Soviet -built Tupolev Tu-134B-3 airliner crashed approximately 800 metres (2,600 ft; 870 yd) short of the Phnom Penh runway, killing 65 of the 66 people on board.

The aircraft was a Yakovlev Yak-40 registered VN-A449, a three-engined jet airliner built in the Soviet Union in 1976. [ 1] One passenger survived, while the other 24 passengers and six crew were killed.
