Security Force can be amazing and the most rewarding careerfield. It can also wear you down and I’ve seen it take its toll on people. If you’re an NCO then go for it.

Security Forces has to enforce rules so a lot of people don't like that - they don't like being told to keep to the speed limit, or to not enter certain areas. The base also needs security 24/7 so there can be a lot of shift work.

If it’s for law enforcement experience don’t join security forces. If you want to be a poorly paid security guard then go for it. Security forces isn’t really all that bad but it’s not that great either. Deployments depends on the base.
No one is ever having a good day when they interact with the cops. If the cops are dispatched somewhere, more then likely the first person they interact with is in some form of emotional distress. A large part of SF primary duties is securing AF assets and defending the base.
