Each year we rescue thousands of dogs who have been lost, discarded, abandoned, injured, or neglected within in Franklin County. We do everything we can to find a loving and responsible new homes for every adoptable dog or puppy that enters our care.

Our Community Pet Food Pantry is for pet owners who are experiencing temporary financial difficulty providing food for their pets. We accept donations of dog and cat food for our pet food pantry, and redistribute it to pet owners in need.
Donations can be brought to the shelter at any time! The shelter has a contactless and weatherproof donation shed located on the outside of the building that is checked by staff throughout the day. The donation shed is located to the left of the "Lost dog" entrance in the front of the building.
All dogs three months of age and older must be licensed annually by January 31. When you acquire a new dog, you must license it immediately. Dogs in Franklin County must be immunized against rabies by a licensed veterinarian before a license can be purchased.
