Since mid-May 2024, Hotmail (aka: Outlook) passwords to email clients is not "sticking". Sometimes will work for a few days, the password is requested again ... Sometimes will not validate even tho correctly. There is something very wrong - at the moment - between some mail clients and Exchange on backend of MSFT for Hotmail and Outlook.

I forgot my password, and have been resetting multiple times in the past 2 weeks. Everytime I try to log in to my hotmail account my password is not accepted. I have reset it multiple times through my back up email (receiveing a reset code as well as the following password change confirmation email).

I'm trying to set a new one and I want to generate it with a tool, but I don't know the maximum possible length of the password. Again, all of this happens in Outlook (not Windows, not Office, not any other Microsoft environment). What are the minimum and maximum possible lengths for a password? What character sets are allowed in a password?
