Foxit Reader, also released today, gets the job done and does NOT require but a fraction of the useless garbage this thing inflicts on your machine. Put the two products in a VM and observe the differences. This is typical of what Big Software has become: bloated, inefficient and full of "features" that are largely irrelevant.

  6. Adobe Reader SpeedUp - FileForum

I installed Adobe Reader 8, and found it used a massive amount of RAM. After running ARSU, things are better (and faster). Foxit is not a solution for me, for three reasons: 1. Not ideal font rendering w/ ClearType 2. Not fast rendering of images 3. Issues with search

Now, try doing the same basic scrolling with FoxIt Reader. Memory use goes up 5-10 mbs during scrolling, but it GOES BACK to previous value after you stop scrolling. So again, I think Sumatra PDF is great and really IS very promising, but I'll stick to FoxIt for the time-being.

Excellent software, what I'm using for years. It has everything, what you can find in Foxit or Adobe Reader, but it's more stable and faster. Now, I see, there is one more like Viewer - PDF-XChange Editor - with the huge futures kit and different UI. It works the same good as Viewer.

  10. Adobe Acrobat Professional | FileForum

does somebody know whether this version still uses that crappy licensing (activation checking) service like the previous version and like all the other adobe applications? if yes, I hope there will be a corporate version, cause this licensing crap eats launches every time you launch acrobat and even when you don't launch it, sits in memory and eats cpu and memory.
