Adams County is a county in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. As of the 2020 census, the population was 103,852. [ 2] Its county seat is Gettysburg. [ 3] The county was created on January 22, 1800, from part of York County, and was named for the second President of the United States, John Adams.
In the township the population was spread out, with 27.2% under the age of 18, 5.2% from 18 to 24, 29.3% from 25 to 44, 25.5% from 45 to 64, and 12.8% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 39 years. For every 100 females, there were 97.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 97.8 males.
History and architectural features. Built in 1858, the Adams County Courthouse was first occupied in 1859. The architect was Stephen Decatur Button of Philadelphia, with John R.
