Sumter Countyis a countylocated in the west-central portionof the U.S. stateof Georgia. As of the 2020 census, its population was 29,616.[1] The county seatis Americus.[2] The county was created on December 26, 1831. Sumter County is part of the Americus micropolitan statistical area.
In the 2022–23 school year, the school will support grades 8–12. Beginning in the 2023–24 school year, Sumner High School will exclusively be a secondary school (grades 9–12).
