I bought the Hisense 17.2-cu ft Counter-depth Bottom-Freezer Refrigerator 2 years and 3 months ago. At first I was in love with it. Last week it started making a sound and slowly the freezer and eventually the fridge stopped cooling. It took me 2 hours on the phone to find a technician willing to look at a Hisense fridge, this was already strange.

Not that model, but no. I took a chance on a Hisense and i think some of the bits that need heating to keep the freezer frost-free were either dead on arrival or died under a year. Freezer gets a layer of ice at the bottom and the fridge leaks often. Super annoying, never again.
This is a place where you can ask for advice on many subjects. Everybody has issues that they run into, and everyone needs advice every now and again.
Check Hisense site if they have reviews also, but remember they have a vested interest in only showing good ones. My model had many (more than 25% of the reviews) customers talking about the ice maker malfunctioning and in some of those cases ruining the whole unit. So I decided I would not be hooking it up before I even ordered it.
Whirlpool and all Whirlpool Brands (KA, MT, AMA) have really reduced in quality since 2013. However, Jennair has maintained both quality and reliability.
Read through my submitted comments for our LG horror show (49 days to get service on a warrantied refrigerator while we lived out of coolers; lost food, no-notice cancelled service appointments and labyrinthine phone call center operators, along with hours on hold.)
I think most appliances are short-lived garbage today but as fridges go, where would HiSense rank? Steer clear? Or coin toss vs all the rest? The one we’re considering—based solely on its dimensions for our dated space—comes with 2 year parts labour and 5 year compressor for what that’s worth. Your input is greatly appreciated!
Has anyone tried HiSense refs? Looking into reviews before I get one. :)
At Costco recently, Saw a Samsung 29 cu. ft. BESPOKE 4-Door Flex Smart Refrigerator, love the accessibility/apparent usability of the double french freezer doors compared to the drawer type bottom freezers. But its a bit pricy at 3400. Aaaaand, i keep hearing bad things about Samsung.
