Should I download a totally new version from Eclipse site or can I just ADD necessary features/plugins to my current Eclipse setup. Both would work, although it would be simpler to just get directly the Eclipse IDE for Java EE Developers (especially if you don't know exactly what plugin(s) you're looking for).
If you have installed Eclipse with the Eclipse installer, then delete the Eclipse directory and any desktop and start menu shortcuts. Then launch the Eclipse installer and open the "Bundle Pool" dialog and click on "Cleanup Agent" to remove unused bundles. This won't affect other Eclipse installations if you have any.

Just try to open a *.cpp file in your IDE, Eclipse will then prompt for possible plugins to install. This include the Eclipse C/C++ IDE plugins, that is the "official" one from Eclipse community. Share
Do you get the same issue when downloading Java from adoptopenjdk.net? 3 of the 13 Eclipse IDE packages are allready shipped with Java: Eclipse for C/C++, for Web/JavaScript and for Rust developers (Oracle has prevented this from happening earlier). In the future, probably also the Java IDE will be shipped with Java.
