I know about a half dozen WDW crowd calendars, with two I really trust but what's the best DLR crowd predictor calendar? We're looking to go in the next few years and are open to whatever time has the lowest crowds and best weather. Thanks!
Also, the crowds conditions at DLR will be affected by the school calendars (local, greater SoCal, Northern CA, OR, WA, NV, UT, AZ, etc.), convention calendars, AP blockout calendars (this is big!), holidays, DLR promotions and events, weather, etc. We have threads on this board that discuss this. For example:
As an example you can run 2 sides of BTMR but during low crowd periods Disney will often run just 1 in the morning. That means they're reducing capacity by 50% even though the crowds haven't been reduced by 50%. It's also why 8am opens are better than 9am because less people will get up and go to the parks that early.
One problem with crowd predictors is that they rely on past years' data. First, holidays and events shift year to year. Second, Disney changes promotions which may spike crowds or shift them. Even data from 2-3 years ago becomes less of a predictor very quickly now, but I'd be willing to be that those crowd calendars look back even farther.
They don't measure crowd levels per se, however wait times and crowd levels I'm sure correlate very well for the most part. To me, attraction wait times are more important than the actual number of bodies in the parks.
Has anyone found a Crowd Calendar for Disneyland Hong Kong? Doing research to figure out best time of year to visit, crowd level wise, and see if it will work with making a stop in at another park. I know Saturdays/weekends are typically the busy times for the park but I can't find any info...
He doesn't do the crowd calendars anymore but he still has the best info, IMO. That said, I think crowd calendars are really only good for seeing all the parks/hours/special events/EMH, etc all in one place at one time in an easy printable sheet. There are way too many variables anymore that make it hard to predict crowd levels per park.
I think with Disney's pricing, and crowd calendars, the crowds are more evening spread out throughout the year. Touringplans is probably the best, but I think most crowd calendars underestimated January crowds this year so we'll see how the rest of the year goes.
94. Sep 23, 2023. #12. We have been able to predict crowds pretty accurately by looking at a combination of things: 1. Magic key black outs - obviously the more keys that are blacked out the less busy it will be. 2. Single day ticket prices - the lower the cost of a single day the busier it would be.
