i need a version of JEI to play on 1.7.10 w orespawn. Before JEI was NEI, and that is what is available for 1.7.10.
Is there any way I could get JEI for 1.7.10. There's no JEI for 1.7.10 on curseforge.
Not Enough Items, the predecessor of JEI. It used to be called NEI, NotEnoughItems. Note the lack of spaces, CF's search won't get you the right one if you put in spaces. Get the GTNH fork of NEI (NotEnoughItems Unofficial), because it backports a lot of the features of JEI. 1.7.10 NEI is very crude by comparison.
Changes are LGPL licensed. I originally just wanted to add the ability to move around in the textbox, but ended up adding a few other features as well inspired/backported or adapted from JEI on later MC versions to 1.7.10 NEI. It's being maintained mainly for use in the GTNH pack, but I'll be sharing publicly once we've shaken out most of the bugs.
NEI worked for Minecraft 1.7.10 and earlier. (Before NEI we had TMI). Later, some of the functions available earlier with NEI has been released and addon for JEI, this means, when you see Not Enough Items for MC1.10, 1.11 or 1.12, then it will need JEI to work. REI is the equivalent of the above mod for Fabric mod loader.

Chicken-Bones quit after 1.7.10 so Mezz came along and made JEI as a replacement for 1.8.9. NEI is still around though, Chicken-Bones passed of his mods to Covers1624 who is still maintaining them for newer versions.
No. IIRC the JEI project started during the 1.7.10 age, but it was so late into it that usable releases only came out after people moved on to 1.8+. I believe the mod also makes use of plenty Forge features that were only added after 1.7.10, so backporting it is most likely impossible, sadly enough. You'd probably need to dig up an older ...
