Getting Started: Student Accommodation Process. The instructions below are for students NEW to the accommodations process and who are needing to register with the Student Access Center (SAC).
The Student Access Center (SAC) coordinates accommodations for students at KU. It is an individual's choice whether to self-identify, submit documentation, and make the decision about using accommodations.
Student Center. Below is our virtual student handbook that describes how to obtain your academic accommodations and the policies and procedures for using accommodations at KU.
Documentation is not required until after a student is admitted, but providing documentation early can help ease the transition to the university setting. Disability documentation should be sent directly to the Student Access Center and is welcome anytime.
The Student Access Center works with faculty to provide accommodations to students who qualify for testing accommodations. Faculty may choose to provide accommodations on exams themselves, or to collaborate with the Student Access Center to administer accommodated exams in the SAC Testing Center.
