Welcome to the Internal Medicine Residency Training Program in the Department of Medicine. Our mission is to provide a superior academic environment with diverse clinical and research opportunities so that all residents receive the training necessary to achieve their career aspirations.
The Emergency Medicine Residency Program at UC San Diego Medical Center began in 1990 with four residents. We now recruit for 12 residents per year for a total of 48 residents at our 4-year program.
This residency program offers broad-based training in general internal medicine and all its specialties. Residents rotate at three world-class teaching hospitals and a myriad of outpatient clinics. About the program
Neurosciences residents get exposure to nationally known clinicians and researchers in such fields as Alzheimer’s disease, neurovascular disorders, neurocritical care, epilepsy, HIV neurology, movement disorders, stroke, and many others. How to Apply.
The surgical internship and 1st year residency in surgery are combined into a single year for which dual credit is given. The year involves approximately 6 months of general surgery, 5 one-month rotations to the surgical specialties, and 4 weeks of vacation.
