Massachusetts tends to be the worst for this, for some weird reason. There was an EEE mosquito-bite plague in MA in 2019, six people died. Mosquitoes pretty much die off once the overnight temperature dips below 50F. That used to happen mid Sept in New England, but now EEE will probably stay a threat until October.

Netflix 'locking' certain movies now. The new Netflix rates kicked in this week and I'm now seeing ads where there used to be none. But today I tried to queue up a movie ("The Miracle Club," RIP Maggie Smith) and there was a lock symbol on it and the message that this movie was only available to those on a higher-tier plan.

The 1989 San Francisco earthquake was ~15 seconds, but felt so much longer. At the time, if you had asked me, I would have said it closer to 30-40 seconds.
