Overview [ edit ] The 21 acre public park was purchased by the City of San Antonio, and was part of the estate of attorney Gilbert J. Denman Jr., grandson of Leroy G. Denman, lawyer and jurist of the Texas Supreme Court .
Located at 6519 San Jose Drive, it was designated the San Jose Mission National Historic Site in 1941. The historic site was administratively listed on the National Register on October 15, 1966.
