    forums.macrumors.com/threads/messages-in-icloud-is-it-really-needed-and-worth...

When you turn Messages in iCloud on a single database of your messages is stored on iCloud outside of your backup. Basically depending on the amount of messages you have and whether you use iCloud backup you can potentially save yourself A LOT of iCloud space. I had about 4gb of messages on 4 devices, turning Messages in iCloud on freed up ...

    forums.macrumors.com/threads/waiting-for-icloud-in-messages-with-ios-17-4.2421436

Mar 8, 2024. #1. This morning I had a warning in the Messages app just below the pinned contacts (forgot to take a screenshot) that said “Waiting for iCloud” with some text about the possible loss of messaging as a result plus a link that took me to Contact Key Verification settings. However, no more information could be gleaned from that ...

    forums.macrumors.com/threads/messages-in-icloud-changed-from-forever-to-1-year...

    1) Set the "keep messages for" setting from Forever to 1 year - DONE & it automatically changed this setting on all my devices. 2) Go into manage iCloud storage settings and select "disable & delete". 3) Hopefully all messages will then be removed and take up zero storage in iCloud. I will then turn Messages syncing back on again.

  6. Deleting iMessages does not remove them from Cloud

    forums.macrumors.com/threads/deleting-imessages-does-not-remove-them-from...

If I toggle off Messages in iCloud and turn it back on, the deleted message returns. I assumed there is an issue with my iCloud so I turned off iMessage on my iPhone and iPad, deleted the iMessage Data in iCloud and kept Message in the Cloud turned off for 30 days (Apple will delete all iMessage data in the cloud after 30 days after you disable ...

  7. Messages in iCloud shows millions of messages in the cloud?

    forums.macrumors.com/threads/messages-in-icloud-shows-millions-of-messages-in...

In the process, I noticed something weird, though; the iCloud Messages sync section (both macOS and iOS) shows an absolutely absurd number of messages--over 4 million: I don't text all that much, and certainly not upwards of 1300 messages a day, every day, for the 10 years since I first bought an iPhone. The Mac and iPhone versions both show ...

    forums.macrumors.com/threads/icloud-still-shows-almost-full-after-deleting...

I only use iCloud for Messages to sync across all my devices, Backups for my iPhone and iPad, a few files in iCloud Drive. My messages is reading 2.6 GB after deleting essentially all of my old messages. I even changed my settings to delete all messages after 30 days.

  9. Syncing Notes and Messages via iCloud for Windows

    answers.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook_com/forum/all/syncing-notes-and-messages...

Notes (Outlook's yellow Notes) will sync to the Apple Notes app if you are using an Outlook.com or a business account on Microsoft Exchange, but iCloud addin stopped syncing notes years ago (when they upgraded the notes app on the phone). Tasks (Reminders on the phone) stopped syncing using the iCloud addin more recently. Outlook.com and ...

  10. Messages in iCloud still taking up space after having disabled it

    forums.macrumors.com/threads/messages-in-icloud-still-taking-up-space-after...

If Messages shows in iCloud then it isn’t your standard iMessage backup… it’s just your “Sync’d across all devices” backup which is useless if you only use one Apple device. Standard iMessage backups are backed up separately from your visible iCloud storage and you don’t see that anywhere. Last edited: Sep 6, 2022. F.

    answers.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook_com/forum/all/new-outlook-problem-apple...

Outlook connects to the server of iCloud but the emails that are downloaded to Outlook stay still although those emails are deleted from the server either from iPhone or iPad. So, although I delete my emails, those emails still stay at my new Outlook. It is a frustrating situation. I tried the same thing at Gmail or Outlook accounts on new ...
