Also, please hold Ctrl + Right click on your Outlook icon > Click Connection Status ( click reconnect if there's a selection on your-side and see if it can make any differences.)

Open Run by pressing Windows + R at the same time. Type the following in the Run box and press Enter. This command launches Outlook in safe mode: outlook.exe /safe See if Outlook connects to your email server in safe mode. If it does, your add-ins are likely the culprit. In this case, close Outlook and reopen the app in normal mode (not safe mode).
For my suggestion, please kindly try the following workaround to fix this case if possible: 1. Firstly, please try to switch back to your Classic Outlook. You may check if your exchange account could be synced after switching back to New Outlook. If needed, you may Import settings to the new Outlook for Windows.
If not, reboot and see if the password dialog stays up. If all else fails you can reset the app is Settings > Apps & Features. Once the process is complete, re-install Office to add a fresh installation of Outlook. Once the process is complete, create your account and try sending the email again. Hopefully the problem will have been resolved.
I have an Office 365 email account in the Outlook 365 version. Suddenly today that account does not connect to the server. Shows as "disconnected" at the bottom of the Outlook window. I have not changed anything on the computer. I've tried "Repair" on Office 365 and that did not help. I'm able to log into my Outlook email through the web.
The message appears that it cannot connect to the server, I also tried using the Outlook app and it will not refresh there either, and I used safari to search and log into outlook and my mailbox will not update anywhere. I deleted the outlook app and I deleted my email from the iPhone mail app and reinstalled and that did not fix this issue.
It looks like my Outlook 2019 was updated (not my choice) and since then it cannot connect to the Exchange server.
I checked my hotmail settings on the computer and under the sync email settings, I enabled POP and changed the server name to the following settings but it still doesn't work. Previous server names that was used for IMAP was imap-mail.outlook.com and SMTP was smtp-mail.outlook.com but these do not seem to work anymore. New IMAP Setting (incoming)
