Sudden inability to connect for NC SECU banking info. This is a Windows/Quicken Classic Premier issue, version R53.32, build 27.1.53.32, running on Windows 10 Enterprise. This issue started this morning, 05-23-2024.
I called Quicken support and after 2 1/2 hours on the phone we came to the conclusion that SECU has competing ways they want the downloads. Most of the accounts except the loan account need to be downloaded by WebExpress. But any loan account, mortgage HELOC etc needs to be direct connect to show properly in quicken.
Update from SECU below. If you log into the SECU website you can choose the subject Quicken in their message center. I sent them a secure message with Quicken as the subject and asked about our problem. Below is the response from SECU. Dear Member, Thank you for your message. We are aware of an issue with Quicken at the moment.
Oh and also I received a Quicken update Release R 33.19 this morning 5-7-21. I loaded the update before doing a transaction update with SECU NC so not sure whose fix worked or maybe it was a combination

Quicken does not provide built-in categories for Social Security income; you must create your own, which is easy enough, and you must manually connect those categories to the proper Tax Line Items. Answers. SSDI is reported to you on Form SSA-1099 and is potentially taxable, depending on your other income, just like the regular Social Security benefit. January 2021. In past years, entering the Social Security, gross, subtracting Medicare premium, you would get the correct net. But not this year. Now you have to add a new category, which I call the Government skimming tax, because the net is reduced by a rounding down to even dollar amt.
Stangely, there is no built-in category for Social Security income. But you can create one. It can either be a stand-alone category or a sub-category of the existing Personal Income category. When you create the category, click Tax-related. Then click on Form 1040 on the left side, and click Social Security income on the right.
